1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function and, where you have consented, allow us to measure how our advertising performs.
2. How Sendpilot uses cookies
We use a small number of cookies, split into two categories. We also measure site traffic without cookies, which is described separately below.
Essential cookies
These are required for the service to function. No consent is required under the strictly necessary exemption in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).

Advertising cookies
We use two advertising tags: Google Ads and the Meta Pixel. They are loaded only on our public marketing pages, and only after you have given affirmative consent via the cookie banner. They are never loaded on our sign-in, sign-up or other authentication pages, and never on signed-in pages, whatever your consent choice. Until you consent, no advertising tag is loaded and none of these cookies is set.
One of these cookies, sp_acq, is our own rather than Google's or Meta's. It is set only when you arrive on a public marketing page from a campaign link and you have accepted advertising cookies. It holds the campaign details from that link, the page you landed on and, where the link came from a Google or Meta advert, that advert's click identifier. It is written once, is never replaced by a later visit, and is removed as soon as you decline or withdraw consent.

Once these tags are loaded, Google and Meta may also set cookies on their own domains (for example google.com, doubleclick.net and facebook.com) to support advertising measurement. Those cookies are set by them, under their own policies, and we do not control them.
We do not use Google Analytics, and we do not use Google Tag Manager.
Analytics without cookies
We also use Plausible Analytics for privacy-friendly traffic measurement. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. No consent is required.
Because Plausible sets no cookies, it is not covered by the cookie banner and is unaffected by your consent choice.
3. Your consent choices
When you first visit Sendpilot, a cookie banner gives you the option to accept or decline advertising cookies. Accept and Decline are offered with equal prominence, and declining costs you nothing: the whole service works the same either way.
Declining does not turn off our traffic measurement, because that measurement uses no cookies and does not require your consent.
You can update your preferences at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
We will ask you again if your answer has gone stale, and we will ask you again if our advertising cookie use changes materially, so that any consent we hold relates to what we are actually doing.
Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the service to function.
4. Managing cookies through your browser
You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will affect how the service works.
5. UK GDPR and PECR
Essential cookies are used under the strictly necessary exemption in PECR. Advertising cookies are only set with your explicit consent under UK GDPR. Cookieless traffic measurement falls outside the PECR consent requirement because it stores nothing on your device.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if our cookie use changes. Significant changes will be communicated clearly.
